The Offerings
What TO EXPECT
Located in Berkeley, California, Five Wings Yoga Therapy offers individualized and small-group yoga sessions for people at any stage of their journey—whether you’re brand new to yoga or looking to deepen your practice.
Yoga therapy is different from a typical yoga class. Rather than focusing on performance or athleticism, our work is centered on you—your breath, your body, your experiences, and your goals. Sessions are personalized and may include movement, breathing practices, meditation, guided reflection, chanting, and elements of yoga philosophy, depending on what best supports your needs.
There’s no required level of experience or flexibility. You don’t need to arrive with anything other than openness and a willingness to explore. Our work together will unfold at your pace, in a space of respect, curiosity, and care.
About Me
Meet Alix, M.S., 500-RYT
I first stepped onto a yoga mat at the gentle urging of my modern dance teacher when I was sixteen. I still remember that first class: the feeling of the studio, the steadiness of the teacher’s voice, what the poses asked of my body, and how I melted into rest at the end—so grateful to be held by the practice and the quiet presence of a shared community.
Yoga became an anchor for me during the uncertainty and emotional intensity of my teens and early twenties. It offered a space where I could land, breathe, and begin to understand myself in new ways.
Since 2014, I’ve had the privilege of teaching studio classes and seasonal workshops as a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) through Yoga Alliance. I trained under Johanna Bell, founder of the Full Spectrum Sequencing Approach to Vinyasa Yoga, where I learned to weave the chakra system into creative, layered sequences—infused with poetry, metaphor, music, and moments of reflection.
In 2025, I will graduate from the Yoga Well Institute (Berkeley, CA cohort) as a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), studying in the Viniyoga lineage of T. Krishnamacharya and his son Mr. T.K.V. Desikachar, under the guidance of Chase Bossart. This tradition emphasizes one-on-one, individualized practice—a therapeutic, adaptable, and deeply respectful approach.
I offer yoga as a living practice of ritual and self-discovery. Whether you’re navigating change, seeking relief from pain, or simply longing to breathe a little more spaciously—I will meet you where you are, with care, curiosity, and tools that support your unique path.
I look forward to working together.
